To set up the Xerox Fiery X40 Server, first connect it to your network and power it on. Use the Fiery Setup Wizard to configure network settings, calibrate the printer, and install the necessary drivers on client computers.
Check if the Ethernet cable is securely connected and verify the network settings on the server. Ensure that the correct IP address, subnet mask, and gateway are configured. Restart the server and your network router if necessary.
To improve print quality, perform a calibration using the Fiery Color Profiler Suite. Ensure that the printer's consumables are not depleted and that the correct media type is selected.
To update the software, access the server’s interface and check for available updates under the Service or System menu. Follow the prompts to download and install updates. Make sure to back up your settings before proceeding.
Use the Fiery System Restore feature to create a backup of the server’s configuration settings. This can be accessed through the server’s control panel or web interface.
Check the print job settings, ensuring that high-resolution or complex graphics settings are necessary. Verify network performance and consider increasing the server’s RAM if print jobs are consistently slow.
Refer to the printer’s manual to locate the jam. Turn off the printer, gently remove the stuck paper, and check for any torn pieces. Restart the printer once the jam is cleared.
Use the Fiery Command WorkStation to set up user accounts and permissions. Assign roles and access levels to ensure only authorized personnel can modify settings or print certain documents.
Regular maintenance tasks include cleaning the printer, checking and replacing consumables, and running software updates. Monthly calibration and backing up settings are also recommended.
Begin by checking the consumables and ensuring they are not near the end of their life. Perform a calibration and check if the correct paper type is selected. Reset the server if issues persist.
