Regularly clean the tape heads with a cotton swab and rubbing alcohol. Avoid using worn or damaged tapes, and keep the cassette compartment closed when not in use.
Ensure the CD is clean and free of scratches. Try different discs to see if the issue persists. Clean the lens if necessary. If the problem continues, servicing may be required.
Use the audio output jacks on the back of the unit to connect to external speakers or an amplifier. Ensure the connection is secure and the speakers are compatible.
The Sony CFD-5 is not compatible with MP3 files. It can only play standard audio CDs and cassettes.
