To start the Husqvarna P524, ensure the parking brake is engaged, the blades are disengaged, the throttle is set to choke (if the engine is cold), and turn the ignition key to start the engine.
Use unleaded gasoline with a minimum octane rating of 87. Avoid using ethanol blends higher than E10.
Change the oil after the first 8 hours of operation and then every 50 hours or at the start of each season.
Check the drive belt for wear or damage and ensure it is properly seated on the pulleys. Also, inspect the engagement cable and adjust or replace if necessary.
Remove the air filter cover, take out the filter, and clean it with compressed air or wash it with mild detergent if it's heavily soiled. Allow it to dry completely before reinstalling.
The recommended tire pressure is typically 15 psi for the front tires and 10 psi for the rear tires. Always refer to the operator’s manual for specific details.
Ensure there is fuel in the tank, the battery is charged, the spark plug is clean and properly gapped, and the fuel valve is open. Check for blown fuses and inspect wiring connections.
Regularly sharpen the blades, ensure the deck is level, and mow at the right height according to grass type. Clean the underside of the deck to prevent grass buildup.
Clean the mower thoroughly, perform necessary maintenance such as oil change and blade sharpening, add fuel stabilizer to the tank, and store in a dry, sheltered place. Disconnect the battery to prevent discharge.
Follow a maintenance schedule that includes checking and replacing the oil every 50 hours, cleaning or replacing the air filter every 25 hours, inspecting belts and blades regularly, and checking tire pressure before each use.
