To start the Stihl RMA 460, ensure that the battery is properly installed and charged. Insert the safety key, squeeze the handle, and press the start button to activate the mower.
If the mower does not start, check if the battery is charged, the safety key is inserted, and the handle is fully engaged. Inspect for any blockages or issues with the start button.
To adjust the cutting height, use the central cutting height adjustment lever located near the rear wheel. Move it to the desired height setting.
Regular maintenance includes cleaning the deck, checking and charging the battery, inspecting the blades for sharpness, and ensuring all screws and nuts are tight.
To clean the mower deck, ensure the battery is removed, then tip the mower on its side. Use a brush or cloth to remove grass clippings and debris. Avoid using water directly on the motor.
It is not recommended to use the RMA 460 in wet conditions as it can affect the mower's performance and safety. Wait for the grass to dry before mowing.
For off-season storage, remove the battery and store it in a cool, dry place. Clean the mower thoroughly and store it in a dry, sheltered area.
If the battery is not holding a charge, check for any damage or corrosion on the contacts. Consider replacing the battery if it continues to have issues after cleaning.
To improve battery life, avoid mowing wet or overgrown grass, store the battery in a temperature-controlled environment, and ensure it is fully charged before storage.
When transporting the RMA 460, remove the battery and ensure the mower is secure to prevent movement. Use a cover to protect it from dust and debris.
