To start the Stihl RMA 460 V, ensure the battery is fully charged and properly inserted. Press the activation key and hold down the start lever while pulling the bail switch. Release the start lever once the mower is running.
Regular maintenance for the RMA 460 V includes cleaning the mower after each use, checking the blades for sharpness, inspecting the battery condition, and ensuring all nuts and bolts are securely tightened.
If the mower does not start, check if the battery is charged and correctly installed. Ensure the activation key is in place and the start lever is being held down properly. If issues persist, inspect for any obstructions or damage.
Decreased performance can be due to dull blades, clogged grass discharge, or battery issues. Sharpen or replace the blades, clean the mower deck, and check the battery charge and connections.
To adjust the cutting height, locate the lever on the side of the mower. Move the lever to the desired cutting height position, ranging from 1.4 to 3.9 inches, ensuring it locks into place.
While the RMA 460 V can technically cut wet grass, it's not recommended as it can lead to uneven cuts, clogging, and potential damage to the mower. It's best to mow when the grass is dry.
Clean the mower thoroughly, remove the battery and store it in a cool, dry place. Place the mower in a sheltered location to protect it from the elements, and cover it if possible.
To replace the blades, disconnect the battery for safety. Turn the mower on its side and use a wrench to remove the blade bolt. Replace with a new blade, ensuring it is securely fastened before reattaching the battery.
If the battery does not charge, inspect the charger and battery terminals for dirt or damage. Ensure the charger is working and connected properly. If issues persist, consult a Stihl service center.
To extend battery life, avoid fully depleting the battery before charging. Store the battery in a cool, dry place, and follow the manufacturer's charging guidelines. Regularly inspect and clean battery contacts.
