To set up the Beogram 5500, place it on a stable surface, connect the RCA cables to your amplifier or receiver, and ensure the power cord is connected. Adjust the counterweight at the back of the tonearm for proper tracking force, typically around 1.2 grams for most cartridges.
Check if the Beogram 5500 is properly plugged into a power source. Ensure the belt is correctly positioned and not worn out. If the belt is damaged, replace it. Also, make sure the turntable is not in pause mode.
Regularly dust the exterior with a soft, dry cloth. Clean the stylus with a stylus brush or cleaner. Ensure the platter and belt are free of dust and debris. Occasionally check the tonearm for proper alignment.
Distorted sound may be due to a worn-out stylus or incorrect tracking force. Check the stylus for wear and replace if necessary. Adjust the counterweight to the recommended tracking force for your cartridge.
Gently remove the existing cartridge by sliding it out of the tonearm. Align the new cartridge with the connectors and gently push it into place until it clicks. Re-balance the tonearm and adjust tracking force if necessary.
The Beogram 5500 is compatible with MMC1 through MMC5 cartridges. Ensure you choose a cartridge that suits your listening preferences and budget.
Tonearm height can be adjusted by accessing the tonearm base and using the adjustment screws. Ensure the tonearm is parallel to the record surface for optimal playback quality.
This issue might be due to a malfunction in the turntable's automatic mechanism. Inspect the gears and linkages for wear or obstruction. If necessary, consult a professional technician for repairs.
Use a spirit level to check the turntable's level on all sides. Adjust the feet of the Beogram 5500 until it is perfectly level to avoid playback issues.
Ensure the turntable is level and the tracking force is correctly set. Clean the stylus and records to remove dust and debris. If the problem persists, inspect the stylus for wear or damage and replace if necessary.
