To perform a factory reset, reboot the laptop and press F8 before the Windows logo appears. Select 'Repair your computer', then choose 'Dell Factory Image Restore' and follow the on-screen instructions.
Check the power supply and battery status. Try a different power outlet and ensure the battery is properly seated. If the issue persists, perform a hard reset by removing the battery and AC adapter, then hold the power button for 15 seconds.
First, power off the laptop and remove the battery. Unscrew the RAM cover on the bottom of the laptop and gently insert the new RAM modules into the slots, ensuring they click into place. Reassemble and power on the laptop.
Overheating may be caused by dust buildup in the cooling vents. Use compressed air to clean out the vents. Ensure the laptop is used on a flat surface to allow proper ventilation. Consider using a cooling pad for better heat dissipation.
Click on the network icon in the system tray, select your wireless network, and click 'Connect'. Enter the network password if prompted, and ensure the wireless switch on the laptop is turned on.
Ensure the touchpad is enabled in the BIOS and the Device Manager. Update or reinstall the touchpad driver from the Dell support website. A system restart might also resolve temporary issues.
Reduce screen brightness, disable unnecessary startup programs, and use the Dell Power Management settings to optimize battery usage. Avoid running demanding applications when on battery power.
Turn off the laptop and unplug it. Use compressed air to blow out debris from between the keys. For sticky residue, gently wipe the keys with a microfiber cloth slightly dampened with isopropyl alcohol.
Check the BIOS settings to ensure the hard drive is recognized. If not, reseat the hard drive. You may also need to run Dell Diagnostics to check for hardware issues.
Visit the Dell support website, enter your service tag, and download the latest drivers for your model. You can also use the Dell Update application for automatic updates.
