To load media, open the printer cover, place the media roll on the roll holders, and adjust the media guides to fit the width of the media. Pull the media so it extends past the print head and close the cover.
Ensure that the media is loaded properly with the guides correctly adjusted. Check for any obstructions or jams and make sure the roll is not too tightly wound.
Access the printer menu and navigate to the media calibration settings. Follow the on-screen instructions to calibrate the sensor for the specific media type you are using.
Turn off the printer and unplug it. Use a lint-free cloth moistened with isopropyl alcohol to gently clean the print head. Allow it to dry completely before powering the printer back on.
Check the print head for dirt or damage and clean it if necessary. Ensure that the media and ribbon are compatible and correctly loaded. Adjust the print speed and darkness settings in the printer menu.
Ensure that the ribbon is properly installed and that the ribbon sensor is clean and properly aligned. Check that the ribbon is not wrinkled or torn.
Download the latest firmware from the Citizen website and follow the instructions included in the firmware package to update the printer via USB or network connection.
Access the printer's menu and navigate to the system settings. Select 'Factory Reset' and confirm your selection. This will reset all settings to their default values.
Perform regular cleaning of the print head and media sensors every 3 months or as needed. Inspect and clean the printer's interior to prevent dust build-up and check for firmware updates periodically.
Use the Ethernet port on the printer to connect it to your network. Access the printer's menu to configure the network settings, such as IP address, subnet mask, and gateway.
