Canon imagePROGRAF iPF850 User's Guide

To load paper into the Canon imagePROGRAF iPF850, open the paper cover and insert the roll with the leading edge feeding over the top. Align the roll with the guides and close the cover. Use the printer menu to specify the paper type and size.
First, ensure that the ink cartridges are correctly installed. Remove and reinsert them, ensuring they click into place. If the issue persists, clean the cartridge contacts, and restart the printer.
To perform a printhead alignment, access the printer's menu, navigate to 'Adjust Printer', and select 'Auto Head Adj.'. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the alignment process.
Check the media settings to ensure they match the loaded paper type. Run a nozzle check and clean the printhead if necessary. Consider performing a color calibration if issues persist.
Open the maintenance cover and remove the used maintenance cartridge by pulling on the handle. Insert a new maintenance cartridge until it clicks into place, and then close the cover.
Ensure the paper is correctly loaded and aligned with the guides. Check the roll holder for any obstructions. Perform a printhead alignment if necessary to correct skewed prints.
Turn off the printer and open the relevant cover where the jam occurred. Gently remove the jammed paper, ensuring no pieces are left behind. Close the cover and turn the printer back on.
Use the printer's control panel to navigate to 'Interface Setup', then 'TCP/IP Settings'. Enter the network details manually or enable DHCP for automatic configuration. Connect the printer via Ethernet cable to the network.
Regularly clean the exterior and platen, check and replace the maintenance cartridge as needed, and perform nozzle checks and printhead cleanings to ensure optimal performance.
Download the latest firmware from Canon's website. Connect the printer to your computer via USB or network, and use the provided firmware update utility to install the new firmware. Follow the on-screen instructions carefully.
