To install the printer driver on Windows, first download the driver from Canon's official website. Run the downloaded file and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation. Connect the printer to your computer using a USB cable when prompted.
If the printer is not printing, ensure it is properly connected to the computer and powered on. Check if there are any error messages on the printer’s display. Ensure the printer is set as the default printer and that there are no pending print jobs.
To clear a paper jam, first turn off the printer. Open the front cover and gently remove any jammed paper. Check the paper tray and output area for additional paper jams. Ensure the paper is loaded correctly before turning the printer back on.
The Canon imageCLASS D480 uses the Canon 104 toner cartridge. It is recommended to use genuine Canon toner to ensure optimal print quality and performance.
To scan a document, place it on the scanner glass or in the document feeder. Press the 'Scan' button on the printer, select the scan type, and follow the on-screen instructions. Ensure the scanning software is installed on your computer.
To perform a factory reset, press the 'Menu' button on the printer, navigate to 'System Settings', and select 'Reset'. Confirm the reset when prompted. Note that this will erase all custom settings.
To replace the toner cartridge, open the front cover, remove the old cartridge by pulling it out, and unpack the new toner cartridge. Insert the new cartridge into the printer until it clicks into place, then close the front cover.
Regular maintenance tasks include cleaning the exterior and interior of the printer, checking and replacing the toner cartridge as needed, and ensuring the paper feed rollers are clean and free of debris.
The Canon imageCLASS D480 does not support wireless networking natively. It must be connected to a network via a wired connection or by using a compatible wireless print server.
Faded or streaked printouts can be due to low toner levels, incorrect paper type settings, or dirty print heads. Check the toner cartridge and replace it if necessary. Ensure the paper settings match the paper type being used.
