To properly load clothes, distribute the items evenly around the agitator. Avoid overloading the washer as it may affect washing performance. Ensure that larger items, like sheets or towels, are placed around the agitator to maintain balance.
Ensure that the machine is plugged in and the circuit breaker has not tripped. Check if the lid is closed properly, as the washer will not start if the lid is open.
The Amana NTW4519JW does not have a traditional lint filter. Instead, it uses a self-cleaning lint filter. To maintain it, run a cleaning cycle with an empty washer using hot water and a cup of white vinegar or a washing machine cleaner.
Use high-efficiency (HE) detergent to ensure optimal performance and to prevent excess suds. Measure the detergent according to the load size and soil level.
Check if the washer is level. Adjust the feet if necessary. Ensure the load is balanced; redistribute clothes evenly around the agitator. Inspect for foreign objects like coins that might be causing noise inside the drum.
Check for clogs in the drain hose or ensure that the hose is not kinked. Verify that the drain hose is installed correctly and is at the proper height.
Use cold water settings when possible, as heating water consumes more energy. Only run the washer with full loads, and maintain the machine regularly to ensure it operates efficiently.
To reset the washer, unplug it from the power source for one minute. Plug it back in and select the preferred cycle to see if the issue is resolved.
It is normal for a small amount of water to remain in the fabric softener dispenser after a cycle. If excessive water remains, clean the dispenser to ensure it is not clogged.
Conduct maintenance every six months. This includes cleaning the drum, checking hoses for wear, and running a cleaning cycle to remove detergent buildup.
