To power on the Yamaha PSS-160, connect the power adapter to the keyboard and plug it into a power outlet. Alternatively, you can install six AA batteries in the compartment on the underside of the keyboard.
You can connect headphones to the Yamaha PSS-160 by plugging them into the headphone jack located on the rear panel of the keyboard. This will automatically mute the onboard speakers.
First, check if the keyboard is powered on properly. Ensure that no debris or dirt is obstructing the keys. If the issue persists, a professional technician may be needed to inspect for internal damage.
To reset the Yamaha PSS-160, turn off the keyboard, hold down the highest white key, and turn the power back on while holding the key. This will reset the keyboard to its default settings.
Unfortunately, the Yamaha PSS-160 does not have a port for a sustain pedal, as it is a basic model designed for beginners.
To clean the keys, use a soft, damp cloth with a mild soap solution. Avoid using harsh chemicals or soaking the cloth. Wipe each key gently and dry with a soft, dry cloth.
Store the Yamaha PSS-160 in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Use a dust cover to protect it from dust and debris. Ensure it is safely positioned to avoid accidental falls.
Check if the volume is turned up and ensure that headphones are not plugged in. Verify that the power supply is functioning and connected properly. If using batteries, check their charge level.
To change voice settings, press the 'Voice' button and use the number keys to enter the desired voice number listed on the panel. The new voice will be activated immediately.
The Yamaha PSS-160 does not have a built-in recording feature. However, you can connect it to an external recording device using the headphone output for audio capture.
