To set up the TP-Link ES20M smart plug, download the Kasa Smart app from the App Store or Google Play, create an account or log in, and follow the in-app instructions to add the device. Ensure the smart plug is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your phone.
If the TP-Link ES20M is not connecting to Wi-Fi, ensure your Wi-Fi network is 2.4GHz, restart your router, and move the plug closer to the router. You can also try resetting the plug by pressing and holding the power button for 10 seconds.
The TP-Link ES20M can be controlled using voice commands by integrating it with Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant. Enable the Kasa Smart skill in the Alexa app or connect your Kasa account in the Google Home app.
To update the firmware on your TP-Link ES20M, open the Kasa Smart app, go to the device settings, and check for firmware updates. Follow the prompts to download and install any available updates.
The TP-Link ES20M smart plug is rated for a maximum load of 15 Amps. Ensure that the connected device does not exceed this limit to prevent damage or safety hazards.
In the Kasa Smart app, select the TP-Link ES20M, navigate to the Schedule menu, and set the desired on and off times. You can create multiple schedules to automate the device according to your needs.
To reset the TP-Link ES20M to factory settings, press and hold the power button for about 10 seconds until the LED indicator blinks rapidly. This will remove all settings and configurations.
The TP-Link ES20M is designed for indoor use only. Using it outdoors can expose it to elements that may cause damage or malfunction.
Ensure the device is powered on and connected to Wi-Fi. Restart the plug by unplugging and replugging it, and check for any app or firmware updates. If the issue persists, reset the device and set it up again.
The Kasa Smart app provides an energy monitoring feature for the TP-Link ES20M. Access the device in the app and view energy consumption statistics under the energy monitoring section.
