To set up a RAID configuration, access the DiskStation Manager (DSM), navigate to the 'Storage Manager', select 'Storage Pool', and use the setup wizard to configure the desired RAID level.
To expand storage, install additional drives into the empty bays, then use the 'Storage Manager' in DSM to expand the existing storage pool or create a new one.
Use Synology's Hyper Backup application available in DSM to back up data to various destinations, including other Synology NAS devices, external drives, or cloud services.
Enable AES 256-bit encryption for shared folders within DSM, and use secure protocols such as HTTPS, FTPS, or VPN for data transmission.
Check power connections, ensure the outlet is active, verify the power supply unit (PSU) is functioning, and consult the hardware manual for troubleshooting tips.
Log into DSM, navigate to 'Control Panel', select 'Update & Restore', and follow the instructions to download and install the latest DSM version.
Configure link aggregation for higher throughput, set up VLANs for traffic segmentation, and enable Jumbo Frames for improved network performance.
Identify the failed drive using DSM notifications, remove it from the NAS, insert a new drive, and repair the storage pool via the 'Storage Manager'.
Use the 'Resource Monitor' and 'Storage Manager' in DSM to check CPU, memory usage, disk health, and network activity continuously.
Press the RESET button on the NAS for about 4 seconds until you hear a beep, then follow the instructions in DSM to reset the password.
