First, check the power adapter and battery. Try a different power outlet and verify the power LED is on. If the laptop still won't turn on, perform a hard reset by removing the battery and power adapter, then press the power button for 30 seconds before reconnecting power.
To upgrade the RAM, turn off the laptop and remove the battery. Unscrew the RAM compartment cover on the back of the laptop. Carefully insert the new RAM module into the slot at an angle and press down until it clicks into place. Replace the cover and battery.
Turn off and unplug the laptop. Use compressed air to remove dust and debris from between the keys. For stains, use a slightly damp microfiber cloth to gently wipe the keys. Avoid using excessive moisture to prevent damage.
Ensure the laptop is placed on a hard, flat surface to allow proper ventilation. Clean the air vents with compressed air to remove dust buildup. Consider using a cooling pad to improve airflow. Check for and close unnecessary background applications that may be causing the CPU to overheat.
To perform a factory reset, restart the laptop and press F4 during boot to access the recovery partition. Follow the on-screen instructions to restore the laptop to factory settings. Note that this will erase all personal data, so ensure you have backups.
Check for malware or viruses using antivirus software. Uninstall unnecessary programs and disable startup applications. Consider upgrading the RAM and switching to an SSD for faster performance. Regularly clean temporary files and defragment the hard drive.
Ensure Wi-Fi is enabled by pressing the function key combination (usually Fn + F9). Click on the network icon in the system tray, select your Wi-Fi network, and enter the password to connect. If issues persist, update the wireless adapter driver.
Turn off the laptop and remove the battery. Unscrew the hard drive compartment cover on the back. Gently slide the hard drive out of its bay and disconnect it. Replace it with a new hard drive, reconnect, and secure the cover. Reinstall the operating system if necessary.
Check the display cable connections by gently adjusting the screen angle. Update the graphics driver to the latest version. If flickering persists, connect the laptop to an external monitor to determine if the issue is with the screen or graphics hardware.
