To reset the BIOS password, you need to remove the back cover and locate the CMOS battery. Disconnect the battery for a few minutes, then reconnect it. This will reset the BIOS settings, including the password.
First, ensure the laptop is connected to a power source. Try a different power adapter if possible. If it still doesn't turn on, perform a hard reset by holding the power button for 10-15 seconds.
Visit Lenovo's official website, navigate to the Support section, and enter your laptop model. Download the latest drivers and install them manually, or use Lenovo Vantage to automate the process.
Turn off and unplug the laptop. Use compressed air to remove debris, and clean the keys with a slightly damp microfiber cloth. Avoid using excessive moisture to prevent damage.
Reduce screen brightness, close unused applications, disable Bluetooth and Wi-Fi when not needed, and use power-saving modes available in Windows. Regularly calibrate your battery for optimal performance.
Ensure the cooling vents are not obstructed. Use a cooling pad if necessary. Clean the internal fans from dust by using compressed air. Consider adjusting power settings to reduce heat generation.
Press the F6 key or Fn + F6 to enable/disable the touchpad. Alternatively, go to Settings > Devices > Touchpad in Windows and toggle the touchpad settings.
Go to Settings > Update & Security > Recovery. Under "Reset this PC," click "Get started" and choose "Restore factory settings" for a full factory reset. Ensure data backup before proceeding.
Run a virus scan to check for malware. Clear temporary files and optimize startup programs. Consider upgrading RAM if performance issues persist. Defragment the hard drive if you use an HDD.
Use the HDMI or USB-C port to connect to an external monitor. Go to Display Settings in Windows to configure the display mode (extend, duplicate, or second screen only).
