To upgrade the RAM, ensure the computer is powered off and unplugged. Open the side panel by removing the screws. Locate the RAM slots on the motherboard, gently release the tabs on each side of the existing RAM, and insert the new RAM module, ensuring it clicks into place.
First, check the power supply and ensure all cables are securely connected. Try a different power outlet. If the problem persists, reset the BIOS by removing the CMOS battery for a few minutes and then reinsert it. If none of these steps work, consult Lenovo support.
To restore to factory settings, access the Recovery Environment by restarting the computer and pressing F11 or the Novo button. Select 'Troubleshoot', then 'Reset this PC', and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the process.
Slow performance can be caused by insufficient RAM, a fragmented hard drive, or too many startup programs. Consider upgrading RAM, defragmenting the hard drive, and disabling unnecessary startup programs via Task Manager.
Turn off and unplug the computer. Open the side panel and use compressed air to blow out dust from components, particularly the fans and vents. Avoid using a vacuum cleaner, as it can generate static electricity.
Ensure both monitors are powered and connect them using HDMI, DisplayPort, or VGA cables to the respective ports on the back of the PC. Then, configure the display settings in the Windows Control Panel under 'Display Settings' to extend or duplicate the displays.
Check the Device Manager to see if the USB drivers are installed correctly. Update or reinstall the USB drivers if necessary. Also, test the ports with different USB devices to rule out a hardware issue.
Power off the computer and remove the side panel. Disconnect the cables from the existing hard drive, unscrew it from the bracket, and remove it. Insert the new hard drive, secure it with screws, and reconnect the cables.
Visit the Lenovo support website and download the latest BIOS update for your model. Run the downloaded file and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the BIOS update, ensuring the computer remains powered during the process.
Ensure that the computer is placed in a well-ventilated area. Clean the internal components regularly to prevent dust buildup. Consider adding extra case fans or upgrading the CPU cooler if overheating is a persistent issue.
