To perform a factory reset, restart your computer and press F11 during the boot process to access the recovery menu. Follow the on-screen instructions to reset your system to factory settings.
First, ensure the power cable is securely connected and the power outlet is functional. Try pressing the power button for 10 seconds to perform a hard reset. If the issue persists, check internal components like RAM for proper seating.
Turn off the computer and disconnect all cables. Remove the side panel to access the motherboard. Locate the RAM slots and insert compatible RAM sticks, ensuring they are properly seated. Replace the panel and reconnect the cables.
Check for background processes using Task Manager and close unnecessary applications. Consider upgrading RAM or switching to an SSD if you are using a hard disk drive. Regularly clean up disk space and update the operating system and drivers.
Identify the type of video output ports on your computer and the input ports on the monitor. Use a compatible cable (HDMI, VGA, or DisplayPort) to connect the second monitor. Adjust display settings in Windows to extend or duplicate the desktop.
Check Device Manager for any errors under Universal Serial Bus controllers. Update or reinstall USB drivers. Test the ports with different devices to rule out hardware issues. If necessary, reset BIOS settings to default.
Turn off your computer and unplug all cables. Remove the side panel and use compressed air to blow out dust from the components, especially the fans and heatsinks. Reassemble the computer and reconnect the cables.
Visit the Lenovo support website and download the latest BIOS update for your model. Follow the instructions provided with the update file carefully, as incorrect BIOS updates can cause system issues.
Loud fan noise can be due to dust buildup or high CPU/GPU usage. Clean the fans and ensure proper ventilation around the computer. Check for resource-heavy applications and close them if unnecessary. Consider replacing the fan if the noise persists.
Restart your computer and enter the BIOS setup by pressing the appropriate key (usually F2 or Delete). Navigate to the 'Advanced' or 'CPU Configuration' tab and enable Intel VT or AMD-V. Save changes and exit the BIOS.
