First, check for malware by running a full system scan using antivirus software. Clear unnecessary files and programs using Disk Cleanup. Consider upgrading the RAM or switching to an SSD for better performance. Regularly updating the system and drivers can also help improve speed.
Ensure your monitors are powered on and connected to the computer's video output ports (HDMI, VGA, or DisplayPort). Go to Settings > System > Display, and under the Multiple displays section, select "Extend these displays" from the drop-down menu. Arrange the displays as desired.
Ensure the vents are not obstructed and clean any dust buildup using compressed air. Verify that the fans are functioning correctly. Place the computer in a well-ventilated area and consider using a cooling pad. Updating BIOS and drivers could also help manage heat more effectively.
Download the latest BIOS update from the Lenovo support website. Follow the provided instructions to run the BIOS update utility. Ensure the system is connected to an uninterrupted power source during the update process to prevent any issues.
Check the volume levels and ensure the audio is not muted. Verify that the correct playback device is selected in the sound settings. Update audio drivers via Device Manager. If issues persist, run the Windows troubleshooter for audio problems.
Turn off the computer and disconnect all cables. Open the side panel by removing screws at the back. Locate the hard drive bay, unscrew the old drive, and disconnect it. Connect the new hard drive and secure it in place. Reassemble the unit and restore data from a backup.
Access the BIOS by pressing the F1 key during startup. Navigate to the Security tab and select "Set Supervisor Password." Enter the current password, leave the new password fields blank, and save changes to remove the password. If the password is forgotten, contact Lenovo support for assistance.
