To load paper into the Epson LQ-1070+, adjust the paper guide to fit the width of your paper, open the paper release lever, and gently insert the paper from the rear feeder or front slot until it feeds automatically.
Ensure the power cable is securely connected to both the printer and a working power outlet. Check the power switch and verify that the outlet is functioning by testing another device.
Turn off the printer, open the front cover, and gently remove any jammed paper. Ensure there are no small bits of paper left inside. Reload the paper correctly and close the cover before turning the printer back on.
Turn off the printer, open the top cover, and carefully remove the used ribbon cartridge. Insert the new ribbon cartridge into the holder, ensuring it clicks into place, and rotate the knob to tighten the ribbon. Close the top cover.
To perform a self-test, turn off the printer and load paper. Hold down the LF/FF button while turning on the printer. Release the button once the printer starts printing a test page.
Check the paper alignment and adjust the paper guide to ensure it fits snugly around the paper. Perform a print head alignment if necessary, following the instructions in the printer manual.
Connect the printer to your computer using a compatible parallel cable. Ensure the printer driver is installed on your computer. Use the Control Panel to add and configure the printer if it does not automatically detect it.
Check the ribbon cartridge to ensure it is installed correctly and not exhausted. Verify that the paper is loaded correctly and that the print head is functioning. Consider performing a self-test to diagnose further.
Turn off the printer, open the top cover, and carefully wipe the print head with a clean, lint-free cloth slightly dampened with alcohol. Avoid touching the print head with bare hands.
Regularly clean the printer exterior, check the ribbon cartridge, and remove any dust from the paper path. Perform self-tests to ensure the printer is functioning correctly and replace worn-out parts as needed.
