ASUS U31JG User Manual

To extend the battery life, reduce screen brightness, close unnecessary applications, disable Bluetooth and Wi-Fi when not in use, and use the Power Saver mode in Windows.
Ensure the laptop is plugged in, check the power adapter and cable, try removing the battery and holding the power button for 30 seconds, then reconnect the battery and power on.
Clean the vents and fans, ensure the laptop is on a hard, flat surface, avoid using it on soft surfaces, and consider using a cooling pad.
Turn off the laptop, remove the battery, unscrew the RAM compartment, gently replace the existing RAM module with a new one, and reassemble. Ensure compatibility with DDR3 RAM.
Back up your data, create a bootable USB drive with your desired OS, boot from the USB, follow the installation instructions, and install necessary drivers after OS installation.
Click the network icon in the system tray, select the desired Wi-Fi network, enter the password if required, and click connect. Ensure the wireless adapter is enabled.
Check for malware, uninstall unnecessary programs, disable startup programs, perform a disk cleanup, and consider upgrading RAM or replacing the HDD with an SSD.
Ensure the touchpad is not disabled by pressing the function key (often Fn + F9), update the touchpad driver, and check touchpad settings in the control panel.
Access the recovery partition by pressing F9 during boot, follow the on-screen instructions to restore to factory settings, and ensure all data is backed up beforehand.
The ASUS U31JG supports external displays via HDMI and VGA ports. Use the appropriate cable to connect the laptop to a monitor or TV.
