To install an operating system, connect a bootable USB drive with the OS image to the server. Power on the server and press the F8 key during POST to enter the boot menu. Select the USB drive and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the OS installation.
First, ensure that the power cable is securely connected and that the power source is active. Check the power button connection on the motherboard and inspect for any signs of damage. If the issue persists, try resetting the CMOS by removing the battery for a few minutes.
Download the latest BIOS update from the ASUS support website. Save the update file to a USB drive. Reboot the server and enter the BIOS setup by pressing the DEL key during startup. Use the EZ Flash utility in the BIOS to update the firmware from the USB drive.
To expand storage, power down the server and unplug all cables. Open the chassis and install additional drives into the available bays, ensuring they are properly connected to the SATA ports. Boot the server and configure the new drives in the BIOS or RAID controller software, if applicable.
Check the network cables and ensure they are securely connected. Verify that the network adapter is enabled in the BIOS. Use the operating system's network diagnostics tools to identify issues, and check for driver updates for the network adapter.
Regular maintenance tasks include cleaning dust from the interior, checking for firmware and software updates, inspecting cables for wear, monitoring system temperatures, and backing up important data.
Enter the BIOS setup by pressing the DEL key during startup. Navigate to the RAID configuration utility. Select the drives you wish to include in the RAID array and choose the desired RAID level. Save the configuration and exit the BIOS.
Ensure that the server is not overheating by checking the interior for dust buildup and ensuring proper airflow. Verify that the fans are securely mounted and not obstructed. You might also need to check the fan speed settings in the BIOS or use fan control software.
To reset the server to factory settings, enter the BIOS setup during boot by pressing the DEL key. Navigate to the option to restore defaults, often labeled as 'Load Setup Defaults' or similar, and save changes before exiting the BIOS.
The server should be operated in a clean, well-ventilated environment with an ambient temperature between 10°C to 35°C (50°F to 95°F) and a humidity level between 20% to 80% non-condensing. Avoid exposure to direct sunlight and excessive dust.
