To connect the ASUS PG279QR monitor to your PC, use either the DisplayPort or HDMI cable included with the monitor. Connect one end to the corresponding port on your graphics card and the other end to the monitor. Ensure both devices are powered on.
First, check if the monitor is powered on and the power indicator is lit. Ensure all cables are securely connected. Try using a different cable or port if possible. Also, verify that the input source on the monitor is correctly set to the connected port.
Right-click on your desktop and select 'Display settings'. From there, scroll down to 'Display resolution' and choose your desired resolution. For optimal performance, set it to the monitor's native resolution of 2560x1440.
Turn off the monitor and unplug it. Use a soft, lint-free cloth slightly dampened with water or a screen cleaner. Gently wipe the screen without applying too much pressure. Avoid using paper towels or harsh chemicals.
Ensure your NVIDIA graphics card supports G-Sync and the monitor is connected via DisplayPort. Open the NVIDIA Control Panel, navigate to 'Set up G-Sync', check 'Enable G-Sync, G-Sync Compatible', and select your monitor. Apply changes to activate G-Sync.
The ASUS PG279QR does not have built-in speakers. Ensure you have external speakers or headphones connected to your PC. Check your PC’s sound settings to make sure the correct playback device is selected.
Visit the ASUS support website and download the latest firmware for the PG279QR. Follow the instructions provided in the download package to install the firmware update. Typically, this involves using a USB connection and specific software tools.
Flickering can be caused by a few issues such as a faulty cable or incorrect settings. Ensure the DisplayPort or HDMI cable is securely connected. Try a different cable if possible. Also, check and adjust the refresh rate in the display settings to the recommended 144Hz or 165Hz.
Press the joystick button located at the back of the monitor. This will open the OSD menu, allowing you to navigate through various settings using the joystick to adjust brightness, contrast, input source, and more.
For gaming, set the refresh rate to its maximum of 165Hz and enable G-Sync if you have an NVIDIA graphics card. Adjust the brightness and contrast to comfortable levels, and use the 'GameVisual' mode to optimize the display for specific game genres.
