To install a CPU on the ASUS P8B-MX motherboard, ensure the CPU socket lever is lifted, align the CPU with the socket notch, and gently place it into the socket. Close the lever to secure the CPU.
Check all power connections, ensure RAM and CPU are properly seated, and verify that there are no loose connections. Also, reset the BIOS by removing the CMOS battery for a few minutes.
Download the latest BIOS from the ASUS website, save it to a USB drive, and use the EZ Flash utility in the BIOS setup to update. Follow the on-screen instructions carefully.
The ASUS P8B-MX motherboard supports DDR3 memory modules. It is recommended to use memory from the qualified vendor list provided by ASUS for optimal compatibility.
Refer to the motherboard manual for the layout of the front panel header. Connect the power switch, reset switch, hard drive LED, and power LED cables accordingly.
Ensure the monitor is connected to the correct video output port. Check that the GPU (if present) is properly seated and powered. Verify monitor functionality with another device.
Enter the BIOS setup by pressing the DEL key during startup. Navigate to the Advanced tab, select CPU Configuration, and enable Intel Virtualization Technology. Save changes and exit.
The ASUS P8B-MX motherboard does not have an M.2 slot. You can use an M.2 SSD with a compatible adapter for a PCIe or SATA port.
To clear the CMOS, turn off the power, remove the power cord, and take out the CMOS battery for a few minutes. Alternatively, use the CLRTC jumper if available.
The ASUS P8B-MX motherboard requires a power supply with a 24-pin ATX main connector and a 4-pin 12V CPU power connector. Ensure the power supply meets the total wattage needed for all components.
