To reset the SMC on your MacBook Pro 13 Inch 2016, turn off your computer, then press and hold the Shift, Control, Option keys on the left side and the power button simultaneously for 10 seconds. Release all keys and the power button, then press the power button again to turn on your MacBook.
First, check the power outlet and the charging cable for any damage. Ensure that your MagSafe adapter is securely connected. Try resetting the SMC if the issue persists. If the problem continues, it might be a hardware issue requiring professional service.
To improve battery life, reduce screen brightness, close unnecessary apps, and disable Bluetooth when not in use. Also, check for apps consuming significant battery in the Activity Monitor and keep your macOS up to date.
First, restart your router and MacBook. Ensure Wi-Fi is turned on and connected to the correct network. You can also try removing and re-adding the Wi-Fi network or resetting the network settings.
To clean the keyboard, turn off your MacBook and use a can of compressed air to spray the keyboard in a left-to-right motion. Hold the MacBook at a 75-degree angle to allow particles to fall away. Avoid using liquid cleaners.
Night Shift can be enabled by going to System Preferences > Displays > Night Shift. You can schedule it or turn it on manually to reduce blue light exposure during the evening hours.
Restart your MacBook and hold Command + R until you see the Apple logo. Select 'Reinstall macOS' from the macOS Utilities window and follow the on-screen instructions. Ensure you have a backup of your data before proceeding.
To free up storage, delete unnecessary files, uninstall unused applications, and empty the Trash. Use the Storage Management tool in 'About This Mac' to identify large files and optimize storage.
Check for resource-heavy applications in Activity Monitor and close them if unnecessary. Ensure your macOS is updated and consider adding more RAM if possible. Regularly restart your MacBook to clear temporary files.
Use an HDMI or USB-C to HDMI adapter to connect your MacBook to an external display. Once connected, go to System Preferences > Displays to adjust the display settings.
