To reset the PRAM on your iBook G3, shut down the computer. Turn it back on and immediately press and hold the Command (⌘), Option, P, and R keys simultaneously. Keep holding the keys until you hear the startup chime two times.
Reduce screen brightness, turn off wireless if not needed, quit unused applications, and perform regular battery calibrations to extend battery life.
