To start a wash cycle, load your dishwasher, add detergent, close the door, select the desired wash cycle using the control panel, and press the 'Start' button. Ensure the door is fully closed to initiate the cycle.
If your dishwasher is not draining, check for clogs in the drain hose, air gap, or garbage disposal connection. Ensure the filter is clean and the drain pump is functioning properly.
To clean the filter, remove the bottom rack, locate the filter at the bottom of the dishwasher, twist it counterclockwise, and lift it out. Rinse under running water and remove any debris before reinstalling.
Spots on dishes may be due to hard water. Use a rinse aid to improve drying and reduce spotting. Check the water temperature to ensure it's at least 120°F for effective cleaning.
To reset the control panel, press and hold the 'Start' button for 3 seconds. If this does not work, try unplugging the dishwasher for a minute and then plugging it back in.
Regular maintenance includes cleaning the filter monthly, checking for and removing food debris from the spray arms, and wiping down the door seal to prevent mold and odors.
If the dishwasher does not start, check if the door is fully closed and latched. Ensure the control lock is not activated and verify the circuit breaker is not tripped.
Place larger items like pots and pans on the bottom rack and smaller items like glasses and bowls on the top rack. Ensure that spray arms can spin freely. Avoid blocking the detergent dispenser.
Unusual noises could indicate items are obstructing the spray arms. Check for loose items or utensils that may have fallen into the tub. Inspect the spray arms for blockages.
Ensure the rinse aid dispenser is filled and use a heated drying option if available. Open the door slightly after the cycle to let moisture escape and improve drying.
