To install the Nextbase 422GW, first attach the adhesive mount to your windshield. Connect the dash cam to the mount. Plug the power cable into the camera and route it to your vehicle's power socket, hiding the cable along the edges for neatness. Ensure the camera has a clear view of the road.
Download the latest firmware from the Nextbase website onto a microSD card. Insert the card into the dash cam, then turn on the device. The firmware update will begin automatically. Do not power off the device during the update process.
Check the power connection and ensure the power cable is securely connected. Try using a different power socket or cable if available. If the device still doesn’t turn on, reset it by pressing the reset button with a pin.
Download the MyNextbase Connect app on your smartphone. Turn on Wi-Fi on the 422GW, then select the camera's Wi-Fi network on your phone. Open the app and follow the prompts to pair your device.
Ensure that the microSD card is inserted correctly and has available space. The card should be formatted in the camera before use. Check the camera settings to ensure recording is enabled.
You can access recordings by removing the microSD card and inserting it into a computer. Alternatively, use the MyNextbase Connect app to view videos directly on your smartphone.
Use a high-quality microSD card with at least Class 10 and U3 speed rating, and a capacity between 16GB and 128GB for optimal performance.
To enable parking mode, go to the camera settings and select 'Parking Mode'. This feature will activate when the vehicle is parked and the camera detects movement.
The Nextbase 422GW is designed to operate between -20°C and 45°C. Avoid using it outside this range to prevent damage or performance issues.
Go to the 'Setup' menu, select 'System', then choose 'Reset Setup'. Confirm the reset to restore the dash cam to its factory settings.
