Denon AVR-789 Getting Started

To connect your Denon AVR-789 to a TV, use an HDMI cable. Connect one end of the HDMI cable to the HDMI OUT port on the AVR-789 and the other end to an HDMI IN port on your TV. Make sure your TV is set to the correct HDMI input channel.
Ensure that the AVR-789 is set to the correct input source. Check that all cables are securely connected. Verify that the speaker connections are properly attached and that the speakers are set to the correct impedance.
To perform a factory reset on the Denon AVR-789, turn off the unit. Then, press and hold the "Speaker A" and "Speaker B" buttons simultaneously while turning on the power. Release the buttons when "Initialized" appears on the display.
Ensure that the AVR-789 has adequate ventilation. Do not place objects on top of the unit. If the problem persists, consider using an external cooling fan or moving the unit to a cooler location.
The Denon AVR-789 does not support firmware updates via the internet. Check the Denon website for any available updates and follow the provided instructions for manual installation using a USB drive.
To set up a multi-zone audio system, connect the Zone 2 output on the AVR-789 to an amplifier or powered speakers in the second zone. Use the remote control to select and configure Zone 2 settings.
The Denon AVR-789 does not have built-in Bluetooth. To stream audio from a smartphone, use an external Bluetooth adapter connected to one of the audio inputs on the AVR-789.
Turn off and unplug the unit before cleaning. Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe the exterior. Avoid using liquid cleaners or spraying any substance directly onto the unit.
Use the on-screen setup menu to configure speaker settings. Access the menu by pressing the "Setup" button on the remote control, then navigate to the "Speaker Setup" section to adjust speaker size, distance, and levels.
Check if the power cord is securely connected to both the AVR-789 and the power outlet. Ensure the outlet is working by testing with another device. If the unit still does not turn on, it may require professional servicing.
