The Brother MFC-J245 printer does not support wireless networking. It can be connected via USB to a computer for use.
Ensure that the ink cartridges are properly installed and not empty. Perform a print head cleaning from the printer’s maintenance menu to resolve any clogging issues.
To factory reset your Brother MFC-J245, press the 'Menu' button, navigate to 'Initial Setup', select 'Reset', and then choose 'Factory Reset'. Confirm the reset when prompted.
For optimal print quality, use Brother BP71 or other high-quality 20 lb (75 g/m2) paper. Ensure the paper is suitable for inkjet printers.
Open the ink cartridge cover, press the release lever to remove the empty cartridge, and then insert a new cartridge. Ensure it clicks into place before closing the cover.
Check the USB connection between the printer and computer. Ensure the printer is powered on and set as the default printer in your computer's settings. Restart both devices if needed.
Access the printer's 'Menu', navigate to 'Ink', select 'Cleaning', and choose 'Black', 'Color', or 'All' to clean the respective print heads.
Turn off the printer, gently remove the jammed paper by pulling it out in the direction of the paper path, and then reload the paper tray. Ensure the paper is not wrinkled or folded.
Ensure you are using the correct paper type and quality settings. Clean the print heads and align them using the maintenance features in the printer's menu.
The Brother MFC-J245 does not support direct mobile printing as it lacks wireless capabilities. You can transfer files to a computer connected to the printer for printing.
