To connect the Brother MFC-820CW to a wireless network, press the Menu button on the printer, navigate to Network, select WLAN, and then choose Setup Wizard. Follow the prompts to select your network and enter the Wi-Fi password.
Ensure that the ink cartridges are properly installed and not empty. Run a print head cleaning from the printer's maintenance menu. If issues persist, check for driver updates or reinstall the printer driver.
To reset the Brother MFC-820CW to factory settings, press the Menu button, navigate to Initial Setup, select Reset, and then choose Factory Reset. Confirm the reset when prompted.
Ensure the cartridges are correctly installed and the protective tape is removed. Clean the cartridge contacts and the printer's contacts with a lint-free cloth if necessary. Use only genuine Brother cartridges.
Place the document on the scanner glass or in the document feeder. Press the Scan button, select the desired scan type (e.g., to a file, email, or application), and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the scan.

Open the ink cartridge cover, press the lock release lever to remove the used cartridge. Unpack the new cartridge, insert it until it clicks into place, and close the ink cartridge cover.
Turn off the printer and unplug it. Open the scanner cover and remove any jammed paper gently. Check both the front and back of the printer for any remaining paper pieces.
The error may occur due to incorrect installation or incompatible cartridges. Reinstall the cartridges ensuring they click into place properly. Use compatible Brother cartridges to avoid errors.
