The Brother MFC-7460DN does not support wireless networking. It must be connected to a network using an Ethernet cable or directly to a computer using a USB cable.
Check if the toner cartridge is empty or not installed properly. Ensure the drum unit is clean and properly seated. Run a printer test page to diagnose the issue.
Turn off the printer and unplug it. Open the front cover and gently remove the toner and drum unit. Carefully pull out any jammed paper, making sure no pieces are left inside. Reinstall the drum and toner, then close the cover and plug the printer back in.
Ensure the new toner cartridge is compatible and properly installed. Reset the toner counter by opening the front cover and pressing the ‘Clear’ button, then follow the prompts to reset.
Turn off the printer and unplug it. Open the scanner cover and use a soft, lint-free cloth slightly dampened with water to gently clean the scanner glass. Avoid using any harsh chemicals.
Ensure you're using the correct paper type and that it's loaded properly. Clean the corona wire by sliding the green tab on the drum unit several times. Check the toner level and replace if necessary.
Download the latest firmware update from Brother’s official website. Connect the printer to your computer via USB or network, and run the update tool following the on-screen instructions.
Ensure the printer is not set to a 'Quiet Mode' which may reduce speed. Check your print settings to make sure the resolution is not set higher than needed. Ensure your network connection is stable if printing over a network.
Open the front cover and remove the toner and drum unit assembly. Separate the toner cartridge from the old drum unit and attach it to the new drum unit. Reinsert the assembly into the printer and close the cover.
Ensure the paper is loaded correctly in the tray and is not overfilled. Check for any obstructions or foreign objects inside the tray area. Clean the pick-up rollers with a lint-free cloth slightly dampened with water.
