To load paper into the Brother FAX-575, open the paper cover, fan the stack of paper to avoid jams, and insert it into the paper tray. Ensure the paper is aligned and close the cover.
Verify that the telephone line is securely connected, check for dial tone, ensure the fax number is correct, and confirm the machine is in Fax mode.
Press the "Resolution" button repeatedly to cycle through the available options: Standard, Fine, Superfine, and Photo. Select the desired resolution before sending your fax.
Turn off the machine, open the control panel, and use a soft, lint-free cloth dampened with water or glass cleaner to gently wipe the scanner glass. Dry with a clean cloth before closing the panel.
Remove any jammed paper by gently pulling it out of the paper tray area. Check for small pieces of paper that may remain, and ensure the paper is loaded correctly in the tray.
Open the front cover, remove the used ribbon cartridge, and install a new one following the directional arrows. Close the cover and ensure the cartridge is correctly positioned.
Ensure there is paper in the tray, check for any paper jams, and confirm that the paper is loaded properly. Adjust the paper guides if necessary to align the paper in the tray.
Press the "Mode" button until the display shows "Fax Only," which sets the machine to automatically receive faxes. Ensure the machine is connected to a phone line.
Check the ribbon cartridge for proper installation, ensure the document is placed correctly on the scanner, and confirm the machine is not in copy mode with an empty document feeder.
Ensure the ribbon cartridge is installed correctly and check that it is not empty. If the message persists, try resetting the machine by turning it off and on.
