To replace the toner cartridge, open the front cover of the printer and remove the drum unit assembly. Push down the lock lever and take out the toner cartridge. Unpack the new toner cartridge and gently shake it side to side. Install it into the drum unit until it clicks into place. Finally, reinstall the drum unit assembly and close the front cover.
Blank pages can be caused by low toner levels, a clogged drum unit, or incorrect printer settings. Check if the toner cartridge is empty and replace it if necessary. Ensure the drum unit is clean and properly installed. Verify that the printer settings on your computer are correct.
To clear a paper jam, first turn off the printer. Open the front cover, remove the drum unit and toner cartridge assembly, and gently pull out any jammed paper. Check the paper tray for additional jams and ensure the paper guides are set correctly. Reinstall the drum unit and toner cartridge and close the front cover.
Ensure that the printer is powered on and properly connected to your computer via USB or network cable. Check the printer status in the Devices and Printers section of your Control Panel. Reinstall the printer drivers if necessary.
To clean the drum unit, remove it from the printer along with the toner cartridge. Use a lint-free cloth to gently wipe the drum surface. Avoid touching the drum directly with your fingers. Reassemble and reinstall the drum unit and toner cartridge.
Streaks or lines can be due to a dirty or damaged drum unit, or low toner levels. Clean the drum unit and check for scratches or damage. Replace the toner cartridge if it's low.
To perform a factory reset, turn off the printer. Hold down the 'Go' button while turning the printer back on. Continue holding the 'Go' button until all the LEDs are on, then release the button. Press the 'Go' button six times to reset the printer to factory settings.
Faint prints can be caused by a low toner level or incorrect print density settings. Replace or refill the toner cartridge if necessary. Adjust the print density settings through the printer driver on your computer.
While third-party toner cartridges may be compatible, Brother recommends using genuine Brother toner cartridges to ensure optimal performance and print quality. Using third-party products may void the warranty.
