To season your wok, wash it with warm soapy water and dry thoroughly. Then, apply a thin layer of cooking oil to the interior surface and heat the wok on medium heat for 10 minutes. Let it cool and wipe off any excess oil with a clean cloth.
After use, allow the wok to cool down. Wash it with warm water and a soft sponge. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or steel wool. If food is stuck, soak the wok in warm water before cleaning.
It is recommended to use wooden or silicone utensils to prevent scratching the non-stick surface of the wok.
Ensure the wok is well-seasoned and preheated before adding oil. Also, avoid overcrowding the wok, which can lower the temperature and cause sticking.
If the non-stick coating begins to peel, discontinue use to avoid ingesting particles. Contact West Bend customer service for further assistance or consider replacing the wok.
It is not recommended to place the wok in a dishwasher as it may damage the non-stick coating. Hand washing is advised for longevity.
The West Bend L-4281 80005 Wok is not compatible with induction cooktops. It is designed for use on standard electric and gas stovetops.
Store your wok in a dry place. If stacking with other cookware, place a soft cloth or paper towel between them to protect the non-stick surface.
Use oils with a high smoke point such as canola, peanut, or vegetable oil for best results when stir-frying at high temperatures.
Ensure the wok is centered on the burner. If using an electric stove, make sure the heating element is flat and not warped. Preheating the wok evenly before adding ingredients can also help.
