Ensure the fuel shut-off valve is open, turn the ignition key to the "On" position, and pull the starter handle briskly.
Use SAE 30 or 10W-30 oil for optimal performance in temperatures above 32°F (0°C).
Sharpen the blade every 25 hours of use or at least once per mowing season to maintain cutting efficiency.
Check the fuel level, spark plug, and air filter. Ensure the ignition key is in the "On" position and the safety handle is engaged.
Run the engine for a few minutes to warm the oil, then remove the drain plug and allow the oil to completely drain. Replace the plug and refill with fresh oil.
Use the height adjustment levers located on each wheel to set the desired cutting height. Ensure all wheels are set to the same height for even mowing.
Clean the mower deck, empty the fuel tank or add a fuel stabilizer, and store the mower in a dry place. Disconnect the spark plug to prevent accidental starting.
Toro recommends using gasoline with no more than 10% ethanol. Avoid using E15 or higher ethanol blends to prevent engine damage.
Remove the air filter cover, take out the filter, and clean it with warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and let it dry completely before reinstalling.
Check for debris lodged in the blade area and ensure the blade is balanced and securely attached. Inspect the wheels for damage and proper alignment.
