Ensure the mower is on level ground. Press the primer bulb three times to deliver the right amount of fuel to the engine. Pull the starter handle sharply while holding the engine stop lever against the handlebar.
Use SAE 30 oil for temperatures above 32°F (0°C) and SAE 5W-30 for temperatures below 32°F (0°C). Always check the oil level before starting the mower.
Check the fuel level and ensure fresh fuel is used. Verify the spark plug is clean and properly connected. Ensure the air filter is clean, and check the oil level.
The mower has a single-point height adjustment lever located near the rear wheel. Adjust the lever to the desired cutting height position.
Change the oil after the first 5 hours of use, then annually or every 25 hours. Clean or replace the air filter annually or every 25 hours. Replace the spark plug annually.
Disconnect the spark plug to prevent accidental starting. Use a hose to wash away grass clippings. Avoid using a pressure washer as it can damage parts. Dry the deck thoroughly after cleaning.
Excessive vibration can be caused by a damaged blade or loose components. Inspect the blade for damage and ensure all nuts and bolts are tight. Replace the blade if necessary.
Run the engine dry of fuel to prevent stale fuel issues. Clean the mower thoroughly. Store it in a dry, covered area. Consider removing the battery if applicable and storing it in a cool, dry place.
Check the drive cable for tension and adjust if necessary. Ensure the drive belt is not worn or broken. If problems persist, consult a professional technician.
Remove the air filter cover by pressing the tab and pulling it off. Remove the old filter and insert a new one. Replace the cover securely. Perform this task annually or every 25 hours of use.
