To start the Toro Power Max 928OAE 38850, first ensure the fuel shutoff valve is open, set the choke to full, and the throttle to fast. Then, plug in the electric start cord, and press the electric start button or use the recoil start handle.
Check the fuel level and ensure it's fresh. Verify that the spark plug is clean and properly connected. Make sure the choke and throttle are set correctly. If the problem persists, consult the user manual for further troubleshooting steps.
Change the oil after the first 2 hours of operation, and then after every 25 hours of use or annually, whichever comes first. Use the recommended oil type as specified in the owner's manual.
Use clean, fresh, unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of 87 or higher. Avoid using gasoline with more than 10% ethanol content to prevent damage to the engine.
Drain the fuel tank or add a fuel stabilizer to prevent fuel degradation. Clean the machine thoroughly, lubricate moving parts, and store it in a dry, protected area. Disconnect the spark plug wire to prevent accidental starting.
Check for a clogged discharge chute or auger. Inspect the drive belt for wear and adjust or replace it if necessary. Ensure the auger and impeller are free of ice and debris.
Before each season, check the spark plug, change the oil, inspect belts and cables for wear, and ensure all nuts and bolts are tightened. Also, lubricate the machine according to the maintenance schedule in the manual.
Adjust the skid shoes by loosening the mounting nuts, setting the desired height of the scraper bar above the ground (typically 1/8 to 1/2 inch), and then retightening the nuts securely.
Check the control cable for proper tension and adjust if necessary. Inspect the drive belt for wear or damage, and replace if needed. Ensure the auger is not obstructed by debris or ice.
Disconnect the spark plug wire, remove the belt cover, and note the belt routing. Loosen the belt tensioner, remove the old belt, and install the new one following the same routing. Re-tighten the tensioner and replace the cover.
