To calibrate the KORG MT-1200, start by setting the anti-skate to zero, then adjust the tonearm counterweight until the tonearm floats parallel to the platter. Finally, set the tracking force according to your cartridge's specifications.
Ensure the power cable is securely connected and the power switch is turned on. Check the drive belt for wear or breakage and replace if necessary. If the issue persists, consult a technician.
Place the KORG MT-1200 on a stable, vibration-dampening surface. Consider using isolation feet or a turntable platform to further minimize vibrations and feedback.
Regularly clean the tonearm with a soft, lint-free cloth. Check the bearings for smooth movement and adjust if necessary. Ensure the cartridge is aligned properly to avoid record wear.
Remove the headshell from the tonearm by unscrewing it. Detach the wires from the old cartridge, then attach them to the new cartridge. Screw the headshell back onto the tonearm and align the cartridge properly.
Check all grounding connections to ensure they are secure. Inspect the audio cables for damage and replace if necessary. Ensure the turntable is not placed near power supplies or other electronic devices that could cause interference.
Ensure the turntable is properly leveled and the cartridge is aligned correctly. Clean the records before playing and consider upgrading the cartridge or phono preamp for improved sound quality.
Turn off and unplug the turntable. Use a soft, damp cloth to wipe the surface and a dry cloth for the platter. Avoid using harsh chemicals. Clean the stylus with a stylus brush or cleaner.
Ensure the speed selector switch is set correctly. Check the drive belt for wear and replace if necessary. If the problem persists, the motor may need servicing by a professional.
The KORG MT-1200 does not have a direct USB output. You will need an external phono preamp connected to an audio interface that is compatible with your computer to digitize your vinyl records.
