To reset your Kenmore 22-14185 Dishwasher, press the "Heated Dry" button, followed by the "Normal Wash" button, then "Heated Dry" again, and finally "Normal Wash" again. This will reset the dishwasher's control board.
If your dishwasher is not draining, check the drain hose for clogs, ensure the garbage disposal cap is removed if newly installed, and inspect the dishwasher's filter and sump for debris.
To clean the filter, remove the lower dish rack, locate the filter assembly at the bottom of the dishwasher, and twist the cylindrical filter counterclockwise to remove it. Rinse under running water to clear debris.
Unusual noises may be caused by utensils or dishes rattling, a clogged spray arm, or a faulty pump. Ensure that dishes are properly loaded and check for obstructions in the spray arms and pump area.
Use a high-quality automatic dishwasher detergent designed for dishwashers. Avoid using regular dish soap as it can cause excessive suds and damage the appliance.
It is recommended to clean the dishwasher's filter and interior once a month to prevent buildup of food particles and ensure optimal performance.
Ensure the dishwasher is properly plugged in, the door is fully closed and latched, and check the circuit breaker. Also, verify that the control lock is not activated.
Place larger items like pots and pans on the lower rack, and smaller items like cups and glasses on the upper rack. Ensure items do not block the spray arms and face towards the center.
Spots may be caused by hard water. Use a rinse aid to help prevent spotting, and ensure you are using the correct amount of detergent.
To improve drying performance, use a rinse aid, select a heated dry cycle, and open the door slightly after the cycle ends to allow steam to escape.
