To install the Frigidaire FF05DISPC1, first ensure the power is turned off. Remove the old unit if applicable, attach the mounting assembly to the sink, connect the power, and then attach the disposal unit. Finally, connect the plumbing and test for leaks.
Check if the unit is plugged in and the circuit breaker hasn't tripped. Press the reset button on the bottom of the disposal. If it still doesn't work, inspect for jammed debris.
To clean your disposal, turn it off and unplug it. Use a brush to scrub the rubber splash guard and inside the disposal. You can also grind ice cubes and citrus peels to help clean and freshen it.
Unusual noises often indicate a foreign object is stuck. Turn off and unplug the disposal, use a flashlight to inspect, and remove any obstructions with pliers.
Locate the red reset button on the bottom of the disposal unit. Press the button to reset. If it doesn't stay in, wait ten minutes and try again.
It is not recommended to use harsh chemical cleaners as they can damage the disposal and plumbing. Use natural cleaning methods like vinegar and baking soda instead.
Leaks can occur due to loose connections or damaged seals. Inspect the mounting and plumbing connections. Tighten any loose fittings and replace worn gaskets if necessary.
Avoid disposing of fibrous, starchy, or hard materials. Run cold water while using the disposal and for a few seconds after to help flush debris through the pipes.
Turn on cold water, then switch on the disposal. Feed waste gradually, avoiding overloading. Once grinding is complete, turn off the disposal and let water run for a few seconds.
To replace the splash guard, first turn off and unplug the disposal. Remove the disposal from the mounting assembly, replace the splash guard, and then reinstall the disposal.
