To break in the motor, run the truck at half throttle for the first few battery packs to ensure the motor brushes seat properly. Avoid full throttle until the motor is adequately broken in.
First, check the battery connections and ensure the battery is fully charged. Then, inspect the on/off switch for any damage or loose connections.
Adjust the suspension by tuning the shock absorbers. Consider changing the shock oil viscosity or the spring tension to match your driving conditions.
Regular maintenance includes checking and tightening all screws and nuts, cleaning the truck after use, and inspecting moving parts for wear and tear. Lubricate bearings and pivot points as needed.
Check the steering servo for proper operation and ensure the servo horn is not loose. Inspect the steering linkage for bends or damage. Adjust the steering trim on the transmitter if necessary.
Use compressed air to remove loose dirt and debris. Wipe down the chassis with a damp cloth and mild detergent if necessary. Avoid getting water into the electronics.
Consider upgrading to a higher voltage battery, using a brushless motor, or changing the gearing to achieve higher speeds. Ensure that the drivetrain can handle the increased power.
Inspect the charger and battery connections for damage. Ensure the charger is functioning correctly and that the battery is not damaged or over-discharged.
Remove the wheel nuts using a cross wrench, then slide the wheels off the axles. Replace with new tires and secure them with the wheel nuts. Ensure the nuts are tightened properly.
Check for debris in the drivetrain, inspect the motor and ESC for overheating, and ensure that the gears are not worn or damaged. Regularly check the alignment and balance of the wheels.
