To break in the motor, run the truck at half throttle for the first few battery packs. Avoid full throttle to ensure the motor components settle in effectively.
Tighten the slipper nut all the way, then back it off by 1/4 turn. Test and adjust further if necessary for optimal performance and protection.
Check the servo connections and ensure the servo is receiving power. If the problem persists, try replacing the servo or testing with a different receiver.
Regularly inspect and clean the drivetrain components. Lubricate the gears and bearings to reduce wear and prevent damage.
Turn on the transmitter and set the throttle to neutral. Connect the battery, then follow the ESC calibration procedure by moving the throttle to full and then to reverse as prompted.
Inspect the ESC and motor connections for any loose wires. Ensure the battery is fully charged and check the gear mesh for any binding issues.
Remove the motor mount screws, slide the motor out, and replace the pinion gear with the desired size. Reinstall the motor ensuring proper gear mesh.
Clean the truck thoroughly, remove the battery, and store it in a cool, dry place. Ensure all components are dry to prevent corrosion.
Consider installing heavier shock oil and stiffer springs. Adjust the ride height and shock positions to better handle rough terrain.
Check the battery for any physical damage or swelling. Ensure the charger is functioning correctly and try balancing the cells if applicable.
