To break in the motor, initially run the car at half throttle on a smooth surface for about 5-10 minutes. This helps seat the brushes and ensures optimal performance. Avoid full throttle during this period.
Regular maintenance includes cleaning the chassis after each run, checking and tightening screws, inspecting the drivetrain for wear, and lubricating bearings and moving parts.
Check the steering servo and linkage for any obstructions or damage. Ensure the servo horn is properly attached and the servo saver is not too loose. Calibrate the transmitter to ensure proper alignment.
Check the battery charge and connections. Ensure the ESC is correctly calibrated and the transmitter batteries are not depleted. Inspect wiring for any damage or loose connections.
Consider upgrading to a higher capacity LiPo battery, changing the gearing to suit your driving style, and tuning the suspension for the specific terrain you are driving on.
Inspect the drivetrain for debris or damage, check the gears for wear or stripping, and ensure that the motor and pinion gear are properly aligned.
To adjust the slipper clutch, remove the gear cover and use a wrench to tighten or loosen the slipper nut. Adjust until there's a balance between wheel spin and motor protection.
Clean the car thoroughly, remove the battery, and store it in a cool, dry place. Keep it on a stand to prevent flat spots on the tires.
Ensure proper gearing, avoid running the car in tall grass or heavy dirt for extended periods, and consider installing a cooling fan on the motor and ESC.
Inspect the battery for damage, ensure the charger is functioning correctly, and check all connections. Try using a different charger or battery to identify the issue.
