To break in the motor, run the truck at half throttle for the first few battery packs. This helps to seat the brushes and ensure longevity. Avoid full throttle during this period.
Check the battery connections and ensure the battery is fully charged. Inspect the power switch and connections for any damage or loose wires.
Adjust the suspension settings to a softer setting and consider upgrading to larger, all-terrain tires for better grip and stability.
Regularly clean the chassis, check and tighten all screws, inspect the drivetrain, and ensure the motor and ESC are free from debris. Lubricate moving parts as needed.
To adjust the slipper clutch, remove the gear cover, tighten the slipper nut while holding the spur gear, then back it off slightly to allow some slip under heavy load.
Check the steering servo connection, ensure the servo saver is not too loose, and inspect the steering linkage for any obstructions or damage.
While the truck is water-resistant, avoid submerging it in water. After running in wet conditions, dry all components thoroughly and reapply lubrication to prevent rust.
Turn on the transmitter, set the throttle trim to neutral, power on the truck, and follow the ESC's calibration procedure by holding full throttle and full brake positions as instructed.
Look for worn tread, cracks in the rubber, or reduced grip during operation. Uneven wear patterns can also indicate a need for replacement.
Use a balanced charger, avoid completely discharging the battery, store batteries at a proper voltage when not in use, and operate at moderate speeds to conserve power.
