To reset the maintenance required light, turn the ignition switch to the "ON" position without starting the engine. Press the trip meter reset button until "TRIP A" is displayed. Turn the ignition off, then press and hold the trip meter reset button. While holding the button, turn the ignition back to "ON". Continue holding the button until the maintenance light resets.
The 2017 Toyota Prius requires SAE 0W-20 synthetic oil. It's recommended to use high-quality oil to ensure optimal engine performance and efficiency.
The air filter should generally be replaced every 30,000 miles. However, if you drive in dusty conditions, consider checking it more frequently and replacing it if necessary.
The recommended tire pressure is 36 psi for the front tires and 35 psi for the rear tires. Always check the tire pressure when the tires are cold for an accurate reading.
To improve fuel efficiency, ensure your tires are properly inflated, remove excess weight from the vehicle, use cruise control on highways, and avoid aggressive driving. Regular maintenance such as oil changes and air filter replacements also helps.
If your Prius won’t start, check the key fob battery, ensure the vehicle is in "Park", and check for any blown fuses. If the problem persists, the 12-volt battery might be dead, requiring a jump-start or replacement.
To replace the windshield wipers, lift the wiper arm away from the windshield, press the tab on the underside of the wiper to slide it off the arm, then align and slide the new wiper blade onto the arm until it clicks into place.
Common issues include the occasional failure of the hybrid system warning light, brake booster problems, and issues with the infotainment system. Regular maintenance and software updates can mitigate some of these issues.
To connect your smartphone, enable Bluetooth on your phone. On the Prius display, select "Setup", then "Bluetooth", and "Add New Device". Select your phone from the list of devices, and confirm any pairing requests that appear on your phone.
Follow the manufacturer's recommended maintenance schedule, which includes oil changes every 10,000 miles, tire rotations every 5,000 miles, brake inspections every 5,000 miles, and engine air filter replacement every 30,000 miles.
