If the pilot light goes out, first ensure the gas supply is on. Turn the control knob to the 'OFF' position, wait five minutes for any gas to clear, and then attempt to relight the pilot using the ignition procedure.
The burner system should be cleaned at least once a year or more frequently if used often. Make sure to turn off the gas supply and allow the unit to cool before cleaning.
Signs of a gas leak include a distinct smell of gas, hissing sounds near the unit, or visible bubbles in soapy water applied to gas connections. If you suspect a leak, turn off the gas immediately and contact a professional.
To improve efficiency, ensure regular maintenance, clean the burner system, and ensure the unit is not obstructed. Proper installation and use of a thermostat can also enhance efficiency.
An uneven or yellow flame may indicate a dirty burner or improper air mixture. Clean the burner and adjust the air shutter if necessary. If the issue persists, consult a professional.
Popping noises can occur due to dirt buildup or a clogged burner. Turn off the unit, allow it to cool, and clean the burner system thoroughly.
To safely turn off the Realflame C1600LP, turn the control knob to the 'OFF' position, ensuring the flame is completely extinguished, and then turn off the gas supply.
Before each season, inspect the unit for leaks, clean the burner and logs, check for any obstructions in vents, and ensure all components are in good working order.
The Realflame C1600LP is specifically designed for LP gas and should not be converted to natural gas without consulting the manufacturer or a professional technician.
