To assemble the Pyle PMD43 Metal Detector, start by attaching the search coil to the lower stem and secure it with the provided bolt and nut. Connect the lower stem to the middle stem, adjust the length, and tighten the locking mechanism. Finally, connect the upper stem to the control box and ensure all connections are secure.
To adjust the sensitivity on the Pyle PMD43, turn the sensitivity knob clockwise to increase sensitivity and counterclockwise to decrease it. For optimal performance, start with a medium setting and adjust based on the ground conditions and target size.
If you experience false signals, ensure the search coil is not touching the ground, check for loose connections, and reduce the sensitivity setting. Additionally, ensure there are no electronic devices causing interference nearby.
Regular maintenance includes cleaning the search coil after use, checking for loose connections, and storing the detector in a dry place. Replace the batteries as needed and inspect the stem and control box for any signs of wear or damage.
To perform a factory reset, turn off the device, hold down the power button for 10 seconds, and release it. The device should reset to its original factory settings.
The Pyle PMD43 utilizes different audio tones to indicate various types of metal. Familiarize yourself with the audio signals corresponding to different metals by referencing the user manual's chart. Practice with known metal samples to learn the distinct sounds.
First, check that the batteries are properly installed and have sufficient charge. If the device still does not turn on, inspect the battery compartment for corrosion or damage and ensure all connections are secure.
To extend battery life, turn off the detector when not in use, use headphones instead of the built-in speaker, and store the device with the batteries removed if it will not be used for an extended period.
Maintain a slow and steady sweeping motion, keeping the search coil parallel and close to the ground. Overlap your sweeps to ensure thorough coverage and avoid lifting the coil at the end of each sweep to maintain a consistent detection field.
While the search coil is waterproof and can be used in shallow water, the control box is not waterproof and should be protected from moisture. Avoid using the detector in heavy rain or submerging the control box in water.
