Pyle PHMD4 Owner's Manual

To assemble the Pyle PHMD4 Metal Detector, attach the search coil to the lower stem and secure it with the provided bolts. Connect the lower stem to the upper stem and adjust the length for comfort. Finally, attach the control box by sliding it onto the upper stem.
To perform a factory reset, turn off the device, hold down the power button for approximately 10 seconds until you hear a beep, and then release the button. This will restore the default settings.
The Pyle PHMD4 Metal Detector requires two 9V alkaline batteries. Ensure they are installed with the correct polarity as indicated in the battery compartment.
To adjust the sensitivity, use the Sensitivity knob on the control panel. Turn it clockwise to increase and counterclockwise to decrease sensitivity based on the detection depth and ground conditions.
If you experience false signals, reduce the sensitivity, ensure the coil is not damaged, check for nearby electrical interference, and make sure the search coil is not touching the ground.
Regularly clean the search coil and control box with a damp cloth, avoid submerging the detector in water, and store it in a dry, dust-free environment. Remove batteries if storing for long periods.
To use the discrimination feature, adjust the Discrimination knob to ignore unwanted metals like iron. Rotate the knob clockwise to increase discrimination and filter out more types of metals.
Continuous beeping may indicate low batteries. Replace them with fresh 9V alkaline batteries. If the problem persists, check for interference or adjust the sensitivity settings.
The search coil is waterproof, allowing for use in shallow water. However, the control box is not waterproof and should be kept dry at all times. Avoid using it in heavy rain.
Perform an air test by passing various metal objects (e.g., coin, nail, ring) in front of the search coil. The detector should beep or display a signal on the control panel for each object.
