Begin by ensuring the microscope is on a stable, vibration-free surface. Connect the power supply and turn on the device. Adjust the eyepieces and objectives to your desired settings, and calibrate the stage according to the sample specifications.
Check the cleanliness of the lenses and objectives, and clean them with lens paper if necessary. Adjust the focus knobs slowly and ensure that the sample is properly mounted and centered on the stage.
Regularly clean the lenses and objectives with appropriate cleaning solutions. Inspect and lubricate moving parts as per the user manual. Store the microscope in a dust-free environment when not in use.
Ensure the microscope is turned off or in standby mode. Gently rotate the nosepiece to switch objectives, ensuring not to touch the lenses directly to avoid contamination.
Check the power supply and ensure it is securely connected. Verify the bulb is not burnt out and replace it if necessary. Adjust the brightness settings and check the filters for any obstructions.
Inspect the stage rails for any dirt or debris and clean them carefully. Lubricate the rails with a small amount of appropriate lubricant. Ensure that the stage adjustment knobs are not overtightened.
Use a calibrated slide to align and adjust the microscope settings. Follow the calibration procedures detailed in the user manual, adjusting the focus and alignment accordingly.
First, ensure all connections are secure and the power source is functioning. Check for any blown fuses or tripped circuit breakers. If issues persist, consult a professional technician.
Cover the microscope with a dust cover and place it in a clean, dry location. Ensure it is away from direct sunlight and extreme temperature changes to prevent damage.
While some third-party accessories may be compatible, it is recommended to use only Olympus-approved accessories to ensure proper performance and to avoid voiding the warranty.
